Things to Do

There's so much to do in Orlando, and Paradise Cove is right in the middle of everything. Here are just a few ideas. If you have questions or need help planning, text Monte (203.804.1003) or Andie (845.537.1403).

Theme Parks

Disney World

Paradise Cove is only 5 minutes from Disney property. Disney has 4 main theme parks, 2 water parks and an entertainment/dining/shopping area (Disney Springs). There are a lot of hotels to choose from on Disney property as well. The crowds will more than likely be lighter before our wedding, rather than after (since we are getting married on Memorial Day weekend).

Universal Studios

Universal is about 15 minutes from Disney/Paradise Cove. They currently have 2 theme parks and 1 water park, but a brand new theme park, Epic Universe, is set to open in 2025. Depending on when this opens, it may be absolute madness in that area.

Sea World

Sea World is also about 15 minutes from Disney/Paradise Cove. The crowds are generally a lot lighter here than Disney/Universal. The park mostly consists of rollercoasters and animal shows/encounters. Their water park, Aquatica, is highly recommended.

Legoland

Legoland is almost an hour away, and is definitely recommended only if you have smaller kids. It's no Disney, but it's a really neat place for any Lego fan.

Everything Else

Dining

The easiest place to grab some good food is Disney Springs. Parking is free, and it's only about 5 minutes from Paradise Cove. Almost all of the restaurants here are exclusive and not owned by Disney. There are some amazing restaurants inside the Disney hotels as well that will allow you to park for free with a dining reservation.

Outside of that, Orlando has tons of great restaurants downtown. If you're looking for a specific recommendation, just reach out. A couple of cool spots to check out multiple options at once are East End Market and Plant Street Market.

Beaches

The East and West Coast beaches are both about 70 minutes away from Paradise Cove. Generally speaking, the east coast beaches are a little more touristy.

Breweries

Monte frequents most of the Orlando breweries and can set you up with a recommendation, depending on your preferences. We have a few hot spots where you can hit up multiple breweries within a very close distance as well.

Sports (watching)

The Magic (NBA basketball) won't be playing this time of year unless they somehow are involved in a deep playoff run. Orlando City (MLS soccer) play in downtown Orlando, about 25 minutes from Paradise Cove). The Rays (MLB baseball) play in St Pete, which is about 90 minutes from Paradise Cove. The Lightning (NHL hockey) play in Tampa, but they also don't play this time of year unless they are deep into the playoffs.

Golf

To be honest with you, our knowledge of golf begins and ends at Top Golf (which is nearby). Otherwise we have heard only rumors that there's a lot of good golfing at Disney and all around Florida. If you are looking for mini golf recommendations though...

Nature/Outdoors

Leu Gardens is a very popular botanical garden downtown. Bok Tower is a little further from the venue, but we enjoy taking the dog there and walking around. Our wedding venue actually hosts water sports during the day (Buena Vista Water Sports). They have Jet Ski Rentals, Boat Charters, Pontoon Boat Rentals, Paddleboard Rentals and Kayak Rentals.
